Maine Coon Cats: The Gentle Giants

If you looking to get a new cat or kitten soon, the Maine Coon Cat may be one you want to consider. Because of their wonderful personality, the Maine Coon is an ideal pet and is equally at home with other pets, children, and the elderly. Who can resist such an amazing cat?

They are very friendly, loyal, obedient, but are not “needy” cats. They are gentle and highly intelligent felines with extraordinary dispositions. They often learn many tricks and can be trained walk on the leash.  Maine Coon’s are one of the largest domesticated cat breeds. They have a distinctive physical appearance and valuable hunting skills. It is one of the oldest natural breeds in North America, specifically native to the state of Maine, where it is the official state cat.

An adult Maine Coon Cat can be an armful, literally. Males can reach sizes of 25 pounds on rare occasions though the average size is 13 to 16 pounds with females being slightly less in weight. Maine Coons are slow to mature and can take as long as 3 to 5 years to reach full size. With their extra sweet disposition and large size it’s no wonder they have obtained the nickname “The Gentle Giant”.

Maine Coons have thick semi long coats which are all-weather. They tend to have a fascination with water: They may dip their paws or toys in their water dish and may even enjoy being bathed.

Maine Coon coats are remarkably low-maintenance. Luckily, because of the texture of their fur, they do not tangle or mat as easily as other longhaired breeds. I lite brush once a week will suffice in keeping the coat luxurious. The texture of the fur is amazingly silky. The most common coat color pattern is a tabby pattern though they can come in a wide variety of colors and patterns.

The Maine Coon Cat is a large, strong, intelligent cat which is very loving and devoted family members. They are a playful cat and have an affinity for water. They are affectionate and devoted companions.

The main objective is of course to obtain a healthy cat with no genetic disorders for your family whether as a pet, for showing or for breeding. The best way is through an established and responsible breeder such as us.

Why spend another day without a gentle giant by your side?
